Do you remember how easy parenting was before you had a child?
It’s easy to look at parenting styles and say, “Well, my child would never do that!” We might think before we have children that we could fix any problem and control any behavior because our plan is to be superior parents. We learn as we get older and have children of our own that our children have the capacity within them to make poor decisions despite our goo parenting. We slowly begin to realize that if we have “good kids,” it is not because of us, but because of the grace of God! What do we do when good kids make poor choices? What do you do when a child is going down a road that is breaking your heart and leading them away from God?
From the story of the Prodigal Son, today we will learn how to pray for the wayward child, and learn the love of our Heavenly Father when we stray away from Him.
