Plumb Lines #5: The call to follow Jesus is a call to the nations

If you have ever stopped to wonder if there was more to this relationship with the Author and Creator of everything, then you are not alone.

Nor should you stop the pursuit of more.

As North Americans, we have been suckered into an easy belief in God that is unbiblical. All you have to do is Admit you are a sinner, Believe that Jesus died for you on the cross, and Confess HIM as Lord. Done!

It’s not that simple!

Because what we see in Scripture is more of the Deny yourself, Take up your cross, and Follow me. In other words, all of your wants and desires become HIS, you are willing to die, literally, daily for your faith in God, and you are willing to go wherever the LORD leads whenever HE calls you.

If your walk with the LORD reflects more of the first portion instead of the latter, that is why you question your relationship with the LORD.

There is more out there!

There’s an adventure with Almighty God like nothing you have ever experienced! It won’t be easy. It could lead to your death physically and it may take you to some very unsafe places, but the fulfillment of being part of God’s perfect plan and seeing lives changed forever, far outweighs the temporary pleasures of this world. Wouldn’t you agree?

What’s your next step in the mission? Will you commit to praying for each of the 7 places we’ll be going in 2017?
