Solomon was one of the wealthiest men on the planet in his day.
He was the Bill Gates or Sam Walton of the Old Testament, if you will In fact, he was so wealthy that when the Queen of Sheba came to see his wealth, it literally took her breath away. (1 Kings 10)
Solomon had asked God for wisdom, and God had richly granted it to him in every area of his life, including his money. These words of wisdom are written down for us in the books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. As we dive into the subject of generosity, Solomon’s wisdom will be our guide when it comes to personal finances. Having the right perspective on wealth, and learning basic financial principles is a key to being bale to do the things that God puts on our hearts to do.
Over the next three weeks, we’ll come to abetter understanding of why generosity opens the door to mission and ministry in our lives and in our church.
This weeks message from Steve Carpenter is from our Atoka Campus. If you missed the message or want to hear it again, listen on-line or tune in to our podcast.
