The Resurrection is Everything

Jesus was dead. For three years, Peter and John had walked beside Jesus and beside each other. They had watched the miracles. They heard Him teach with authority and wisdom. They saw His power over the wind and the waves. They saw His love and forgiveness. Finally, their hope for a King and a Savior was right before them. But now He was dead. . .crucified. . .buried. Their world had come crashing down, and questions rushed through their minds. How could God let this happen? What are we supposed to live for? They simply didn’t understand.

Sometimes it’s tough for us to understand what God does.

We don’t always get why things happen the way they do, or why life turns out different than we expected. Peter and John and the other disciples were experiencing this doubt just like we do. What changed these doubtful men into the bold, determined leaders of the early church? What was it that restored their hope and put their questions on the back burner? It was without a doubt the resurrection. Early that Sunday morning, they raced to the tomb where Jesus had been buried, and found it empty. That changed everything.

It can change everything for you too. No matter what your questions about life, believing in a risen Savior changes everything. If Jesus is truly alive, you can trust Him in every way, and He is Lord of everything, including our lives.

Today, will you consider the implications of the resurrection for your life?
