It is life’s most important question. It is the question of all questions. We all think about it. We all contemplate the answer, even from our youngest days. Is there life after death? Is there something more? Is there something else, or is this it? Is there really eternal life? Science can’t answer it. Philosophy can’t answer it. Theologians even debate it. How do we know?7851_8024_5

The Apostle Peter turned to Jesus one day and said, “To whom shall we go? You alone have the words of eternal life.” Indeed Jesus is the only one that can finally answer our question. If we are honest, we know that eternity and the immortality of the soul can only be discussed in the framework of the Bible, and in the context of the empty tomb. The empty tomb is the greatest evidence that we have eternal life and ultimate victory over death. Our hope rests in Jesus’ ability to deal with death. The resurrection is the proof that He has done so! The truth is that our souls were made to be immortal. We were made to live forever somewhere.

Before Jesus raised His friend Lazarus from the grave he said these words: “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” He then asked a question that rings down the halls of time. It is a question that we all must answer. “Do you believe this?”
