Godliness in Chaos – (2)

Are you one of those people that just hates to read the instructions?

Have you ever wished that you had read the instructions after you’ve spent hours trying to put something together? There is a reason that the instructions are included. Sometimes we need a little help getting it all together. We don’t always know what to do next, or what part needs to be included when putting stuff together. Sometimes we need a little help. When we don’t follow the instructions, it takes longer to see the finished product, it creates a great deal of frustrations and regret, and it causes conflict among family members!

These things are true in our spiritual lives as well. Paul writes Titus and tells him to give some special instructions to the people of the church. As they were beginning to understand what it meant to follow Jesus, they needed some special instructions to help them get it all together. Paul’s desire was that they would heed the instructions so that they could grow and avoid the frustration and regret of having to learn the hard way. How about you? Are you paying attention to the simple instructions from God on how to live out this life?
