Mission Statement

Our primary purpose is to serve, not be served. Our objectives are to extend the love of the Family of God to all over 55 within our church, and to reach out to others in our community. The pursuit fo the objectives will bring the joy of Christian fellowship, outreach, and spiritual growth.

Goals/Purpose

Serve shut-ins with senior staff member, more fellowship for 55+, meet the needs of GBC’s 55+ (by starting with our group, expanding to the congregation then the community)

Vision

Outreach – ministering and developing relationships with each other outside the walls of the church on a one-to-one basis. Invite more 55+ to get involved with this ministry.

Founding Scripture

“For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but it is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:12 (ESV)

ACTIVITIES COMING SOON AND NOT SO SOON:

Volunteer Opportunity

Test Proctor_bulletin smallServe our Schools by volunteering as a Test Proctor.

Each of our Elementary Schools throughout Tipton County will be testing students for the next several weeks. Our schools are in need of volunteers to serve as Proctors of these tests. All you have to do is show up and hang out in the classroom. There’s nothing to do other than be present during the testing to meet regulations. Proctors can serve for all or only some of the dates. This is not physically demanding; one doesn’t have to be especially mobile or physically active to volunteer.

Gateway will partner with Munford Elementary, Atoka Elementary, and Brighton Elementary to provide volunteers. Testing is the following dates at these schools:

-Monday April 16 – Thursday April 19
-Monday April 23 – Friday April 27
Monday April 30 – Thursday May 3
Testing hours are 7;40am – 10:30am

A brief training for proctors is at the following day and time:
Atoka Elementary: April 4 at 2pm or April 10 at 8am
Brighton Elementary: April 3 at 1pm
Munford Elementary April 10 at 8am or 2pm

To volunteer, compete the form below. Karen Phillips is coordinating our Test Proctor volunteers. She will be in contact with you.
