Christmas is a time for miracles, right? All you have to do is watch a little T.V. around the holidays to understand that all kinds of amazing things happen at Christmas. Everything turns out right. Miracle on 34th Street. . . . It’s a Wonderful Life. . .and every single Hallmark Christmas movie. . .all have miraculous stories and happy endings. The problem is that they are movies. Real life doesn’t always seem to reflect what we see in the movies.
While it’s true that every situation in life results in a miracle, the reality is that the events surrounding the 1st Christmas are full of real life miracles. A baby born to a virgin girl. . .angels delivering messages to shepherds. . . a star so bright that it could be followed from a far off land. One of the simple truths of Christmas is that God really can do anything. He was not limited to natural laws back then, and He is not limited today.
Today, we will look at one of the miracles surrounding the Christmas story. It’s the story of a couple that was about to give up hope that they would never see their miracle. . .until God stepped in and did more than they could ever imagine. Don’t give up. . . God still does miracles.
