Who are the M.E.T.S. 55+?
The M.E.T.S. 55+ is a new ministry starting at Gateway. Our target is anyone 55+ years of age or older. Of course, if someone younger wants to join, they are welcome!
What does M.E.T.S. stand for?
Minster to the needs of seniors
Travel for fellowship
Serve the body of Gateway and our community
Our primary purpose is to serve, not be served. Our objectives are to extend the love of the Family of God to all over 55 within our church, and to reach out to others in our community. The pursuit fo the objectives will bring the joy of Christian fellowship, outreach, and spiritual growth.
Serve shut-ins with senior staff member, more fellowship for 55+, meet the needs of GBC’s 55+ (by starting with our group, expanding to the congregation then the community)
Outreach – ministering and developing relationships with each other outside the walls of the church on a one-to-one basis. Invite more 55+ to get involved with this ministry.
“For the ministry of this service is not only supplyi
ng the needs of the saints but it is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:12 (ESV)
