Why do people do the things that they do?

Why would someone climb a huge mountain? Why would someone go through the rigors of years and years of school and education? Why would an athlete exhaust himself every day in the off season? Why would a hunter get up before dawn in freezing weather?

All of those people believe that it is worth it for some reason.

We might wonder why Jesus would go through all of the punishment and torture of the cross? Have you ever given it much thought? Why did he go through the separation from His Father and the brutality of the religious leaders and Roman soldiers? This weekend, we answered this question.

Jesus did it to show us the ugliness of our sin, to demonstrate the incredible love of God, and to grant us access to the presence of our Heavenly Father. We remembered the passion of Jesus Christ as we celebrated the Lord’s Supper together.
