Have you ever wondered whether or not your relationship with God was really real?

Have you ever doubted a spiritual decision that you made in the past? Have you tried to convince yourself that you are a child of God, when deep down you really weren’t sure? John the Apostle wrote a book to help us understand that God wants us to be certain of our salvation. In fact, the main theme of the entire book of I John is the assurance of our salvation. In fact, I John 5:13 says, “These things I have written to you who believe in the Name of the Soul of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the Name of the Son of God.” In other words, John wrote these thing down so that we could have assurance.

Over the next several weeks, we will be studying the letter of I John and looking at how we can know that we have a true relationship with God.
