Church Family,
Whew! What a busy summer it has been so far at Gateway! Vacation Bible School was amazing, as usual, with over 200 students and 130 volunteers! World changers in Tipton County was a groundbreaking effort that served the people of our local area in a variety of ways. Last, but not least, Rock the Block was a huge success with literally thousands being served by the amazing members of the Body of Christ! All three mission events have reminded me how beautiful it is when the church comes together for the sake of the gospel, and to be on mission for Jesus. it’s definitely taken all of us, and the unique gifts God has given each person! So many people took time off, postponed vacations, changed their schedule, and gave huge amounts of time and prayer so that we could reach out in these ways. We’ve been able by the grace of God to walk through open doors that He alone provided. A huge thanks to everyone that helped, prayed, worked, and sweated to minister to others. These are the things that keep a church healthy!
As we move toward fall, school will start, vacationers will return, and once again our services will fill up, and our opportunities will increase to make disciples. Please pray with your staff and leadership as we strive to lead our church to be obedient to the great commission even when our facilities are stretched to the limit. You are invited to pray with the staff and other leaders each Saturday morning at 9am at HeBrews for the future, and for God’s guidance as we move ahead.
“You are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No on lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your Heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:14-16
In His Love,
Bro. Steve
