What do you think the mission of the church really is?
Some think it is to have a program for kids. A place where they can know about Jesus and give them things to do.
Some think it’s to sing a few songs and hear a 20 minute sermon once per week.
Some think it s a place to come so you can hame some marry you and bury you.
Some think it is a social center, it’s all about relationships.
Some aren’t sure but just want to get out before the Methodists get to Olympic.
Why are we here? There is only one person that gets to pick the mission of the church: Jesus! This week in our UpsideDown series, we’ve been looking at things in our lives or in the church that we’ve looked at wrong…or we have misunderstood. We have to change the way we think about why we are here.
Jesus gave us the mission We need to get on the same page and avoid a lot of frustration.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
