As believers, we talk a lot about making disciples. This, of course, comes from the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20. It truly is the task of our lives. There is a promise at the end of the Great Commission that we often. Overlook. In verse 20, Jesus says, “Lo, I am with you always, even until the end of the age.” As the disciples prepares to go and follow Jesus’ command into all the earth, Jesus was promising to never leave them alone. This same promise holds true for everyone that follows Jesus today.

It gives us confidence to know that no matter what we face or what we go through, Jesus will be with us, even to the very end. It may not always feel like God is there, but His promises are true. He is with us as we go through our every day lives. He is with us in hardship and difficulty. He is with us even in the valley of the shadow of death. Psalm 23 says, “Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death; I will fear no evil; for You are with me.”

When you feel like God has abandoned you, remember the words of Jesus. What He says is true. He will never forsake His children.
